Ernestine Carreira is Associate Professor at Université d’Aix-Marseille, França, where she was director of the Department of Portuguese Studies between 2004 and 2010. Since 2011 is elected member of the Conseil National des Universités and since  2012 is Director of the master dregree in Tourisme, Langue et Patrimoine, Langues Etrangères Appliquées option Portugais, Aire Culturelle Romane recherche portugais. She holds a PhD in History from the École des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales (EHESS – Paris) with the thesis Les Français et L’Inde Portugaise (1761-1793). She is the author of several academic publications, among them: Globalising Goa (1660-1820), Change and exchange in a forme capital of empire, (2014).
